Sun, Nov 18, 2018 Improved Shopify App Detection

When we first launched Shopify App Detection, our coverage was fairly modest. At the time, we were only able to identify 112 different apps, which represented about 5% of all apps available in the Shopify App Store.

We've been hard at work improving this feature and we're happy to share that we're now identifying 1,157 different apps, which have collectively been installed over 2.3 million times. This represents approximately 34% of all Shopify apps.

We're only able to detect apps that modify the store front in some way. Many apps operate strictly on the backend and do not modify the store front. These apps cannot be detected, so we'll never be able to get our coverage to 100%.

That said, expect continued improvement over the coming weeks as we refine our app detection algorithm.
