Hi Everyone,
Many brands have multiple e-commerce domains linked together. For instance, Gymshark runs 29 variants like ca.gymshark.com and uk.gymshark.com, each operating independently with its own backend, apps, and inventory.
This practice is widespread among Shopify Plus merchants who get 10 accounts by default in their contract. Upgrading one Shopify account to Shopify Plus gives merchants an extra nine accounts and a cloning tool for localizing sites - consider a US site with USD pricing versus a Canadian site with CAD pricing and localized promotions.
Brands might operate separate e-commerce sites for wholesale, direct-to-consumer sales, or testing. Identifying a brand's various sites can help create leverage in your sales process.
E.g., when prospecting, focusing on brands with multiple domains could lead to more integrations of your app or expansion of the services you provide.
This can also be helpful during negotiations, as you could propose starting with one doimain and scaling to others over time. Knowing the connection between a new e-commerce site in your territory and its larger, established counterpart can be powerful.
You can view a brand's alternate domains in the Store Leads dashboard . We also let you generate reports on stores with X or more alternate domains. E.g., here’s a report of US-based e-commerce sites with 3 or more alternate domains associated with their brand.
You can also upload a list of existing clients to Store Leads and then re-download that list to see which of your customers have other sites. Here are the steps to enrich a CSV file in Store Leads.
Finally, if you connect Store Leads with your CRM, we'll automatically update company records with alternate domain data.
Please let us know if you need any help setting this up!
Talk with you next week,
